Following weeks of absence from public view during the military crisis, Iran’s Supreme Leader emerged looking significantly more aged. Ayatollah Ali Khamenei’s first televised appearance since the confrontation began revealed the strain of the prolonged conflict.

The Iranian leader’s address focused on acknowledging the nuclear program setback while vowing continued defiance against American pressure. UN nuclear inspectors confirmed extensive destruction to multiple atomic sites, though they stopped short of declaring complete program elimination.

Khamenei highlighted Iran’s retaliatory strike against US forces in Qatar as evidence of his country’s continued defiance despite the setback. He described this action as successful response to American aggression and demonstration that Iranian resistance remained strong.

The ceasefire has provided both nations with an opportunity to avoid wider conflict while maintaining their fundamental positions. Iran has begun normalizing operations, including partial airspace reopening and restoration of normal activities, while parliament moves to reduce international nuclear oversight.
