Apple is experiencing an executive exodus as Alan Dye prepares to leave for Meta. Dye has been Apple’s chief of user interface design since 2015 and spent nearly 20 years with the company. His departure, effective December 31st, was confirmed by Apple CEO Tim Cook, who announced Stephen Lemay as his replacement.
Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg announced the creation of a creative studio within Reality Labs that will be led by Dye. In a post on Threads, he detailed how this studio will focus on merging design, fashion, and technology. This represents a strategic move by Meta to strengthen its design capabilities and compete in emerging markets.
The new studio will be responsible for elevating design standards across Meta’s product ecosystem.
