Oman, through its State Financial and Administrative Audit Authority, took part in the 27th meeting of Deputy Heads of GCC Audit and Accounting Institutions, which was conducted via videoconference. The gathering focused on several key initiatives aimed at enhancing regional collaboration in auditing and accounting.
A central topic of discussion was the preparation for the 7th GCC Competition for Research and Studies in Auditing and Accounting. In addition, participants considered a proposal to create an AI-powered platform designed to streamline the committee’s work and consolidate outcomes. This initiative highlights the region’s commitment to leveraging technology to improve efficiency and effectiveness in financial oversight.
During the meeting, attendees also reviewed recommendations from past research competitions, with a focus on incorporating valuable insights and lessons learned. Discussions included an evaluation of training programs planned for the years 2025 and 2026, emphasizing the importance of continuous professional development in the field.
Looking ahead, the officials deliberated on the agenda for the upcoming meeting of GCC audit institution heads. They also planned activities for the forthcoming GCC Financial and Administrative Audit Week, an event aimed at strengthening regional cooperation in public auditing and financial oversight. These efforts underscore the collective commitment of GCC nations to uphold high standards of accountability and transparency in governance.
